Fatal Crash in Wayne County: Wooster Woman Killed, Ashland Man Not Injured

Highway Patrol Investigates Fatal Crash on Cleveland Road

Canaan Township – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a three-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on State Route 3 (Cleveland Road) just south of milepost 24 in Canaan Township, Wayne County.

At approximately 8:00 PM, the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a report of 3 vehicles being involved in a motor vehicle crash on Cleveland Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Nissan Sentra sedan was traveling southbound on Cleveland Road, drove left of center, and struck a 2024 International Semi-Truck and trailer that was in the northbound lane. The 2010 Nissan Sentra became airborne and overturned as it traveled back into the southbound lane striking a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck that was pulling a horse trailer.

Imogene Osborne, 31, of Wooster, Ohio was operating the 2010 Nissan Sentra sedan. Ms. Osborne was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner’s Office. Ms. Osborne was wearing her seatbelt at the time of crash.

David B McQuillen, 61, of Ashland, Ohio was operating the 2024 International Semi-Truck and trailer northbound on Cleveland Road. Mr. McQuillen was wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash and did not sustain any injuries.

Connor J. Schaffer, 19, of Creston, Ohio was operating the 2015 GMC Sierra HD pickup while pulling an empty horse trailer. Mr. Schaffer was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash and did not sustain any injuries.

Assisting on scene were the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Canaan Township Fire and EMS, Central Fire and EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Wayne County Coroner’s Office and Bear’s Towing.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
