Avita Plans New Medical Clinic in Bucyrus to Open in 2026

BUCYRUS – September 4, 2025 – Avita Health System has announced plans to build a new medical clinic at 307 Hill Street in Bucyrus. The 15,000 square foot facility is slated to open in late summer of 2026.

“Avita has been preparing to combine our orthopedic office and therapy center in one convenient location, close to the hospital, by purchasing property around the hospital for some years now,” stated Jerome Morasko, President/CEO, Avita Health System. “We are excited to start construction this month and bring this vision to reality.”

This state-of-the-art facility has been designed to provide advanced orthopedic care, occupational health needs, and therapy services to patients of all ages and activity levels.

“The facility will house our two newest orthopedic physicians, Dr. John Diehl (orthopedic sports medicine) and Dr. Robert Ogg (orthopedic surgery) in addition to various therapy services,” stated Kim Winkle, VP of Operations, Avita Health System. “We have included some of the most advanced technology and rehabilitation tools available for therapy in our center including a new on-site x-ray machine, a SwimEx SX TRC aquatic therapy pool, and a new Solo Step System which enhances rehabilitation capabilities for those learning to walk with new prosthetics, giving them the opportunity to do so safely and effectively. Avita’s occupational medicine clinic, Avita Workwell, will relocate to this facility and continue to serve over 2,000 employers. In addition, adult speech therapy will evaluate and treat speech, communication, voice, swallowing and cognition disorders.”

Adena Corporation, in Mansfield, has been selected as the design builder of the new clinic. The architect is NAC Architecture in Columbus, Ohio.
