The Knox County Sheriff’s Office needs assistance in locating an at-risk elderly woman who suffers from dementia.
Knox County, Ohio – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in locating Barbara L. Horn, a 77-year-old Knox County resident who was reported missing by her family today. Barbara was last seen on September 2, 2025, at approximately 12:04 p.m. She left her residence on foot, located on McCament Rd., Walhonding, Ohio. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shawl, black pants, and black slip-on leather shoes. Barbara was not carrying a cell phone or money but is in possession of a black purse containing her identification. Due to Barbara’s dementia, she is considered at risk. The search for Barbara Horn thus far has been to no avail. Deputies, along with volunteer organizations and partner agencies, concentrated their search efforts around the area where she was last known to be. Resources utilized included air support from OSP Aviation, drone teams, K-9 teams, and horseback units. Deputies continued the search through the night. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office will expand the search area by several miles this morning.
