Shelby Talks How To Spend $1.8 Million In COVID-19 Funds

Shelby is receiving nearly $2 million from the American Rescue plan. City Council, just like everyone else, is awaiting the guidance on how the COVID-19 relief funds can be used. Shelby Finance Director Brain Crum, said they will received about half of the $1.8 million dollars this summer and the other half next year. According to RichlandSource.com, Shelby will have until 2024 to spend the money. Crum said Shelby has about $20,000 still to use in CARES Act funds, which has to be spent by the end of this year.
