2nd Confirmed COVID-19 Case In Crawford County

Crawford County Public Health (CCPH) has announced a second positive case of COVID-19. The case is an adult in their 60’s who is recovering and isolated at home. This brings the total number of laboratory confirmed positive cases in Crawford County to two, with the first case reported on March 24th and the second case on March 28th.

To maintain patient privacy, Crawford County Public Health will not be providing additional identifying information. The CCPH Communicable Disease Team, comprised of public health nurses, epidemiologists, and physicians, are monitoring the individual and in communication with their close contacts.

Crawford County Public Health expects more cases of COVID-19 to be reported in the county as they are aware of increased testing being done in the community. Dr. Chris Johnson, CCPH Medical Director, wants to remind residents that the actual number of COVID-19 cases in Crawford County likely exceeds the two currently reported.

Dr. Johnson offers the following advice, “As COVID-19 is spreading in our community, please stay home as much as possible, stay apart by at least 6 feet when around others, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Together we can slow the spread of COVID-19.”
