Ontario police are investigating an alleged false claim made by an employee at a local business, which said they had tested positive for COVID-19.

RichlandSource.com reports, that the claim was made by a Pep Boys Employee, which led to the temporary closing of the location on Lexington Springmill road and notifying its employees and customers, who had visited in the last 14 days.

Ontario Police say they are in the very early stages of the investigation.

The claim also led to a lot of attention on social media, which led Richland Public Health to make an announcement, that no one from the location tested positive for the virus.

The store has since reopened and possible charges could be coming for making the false claim.
