Mansfield to make offers on properties to build Dry Dam

Mansfield City Council has given the go ahead to make offers on 7 properties that need to be acquired by the city to building the dry dam in North Lake Park, to help reduce the flooding in the city.  This will remove 106 acres out of the flood plain and will need a total of 16 properties to be acquired by the city for the project. 14 of the properties are vacant and should take about 8 or 9 months to make offers and actually acquire the land.  Once the $15 million project is finished, businesses could invest in the downtown without the fear of flooding.
