Shelby Putting Together Plan to Restore Historic Sites

The city of Shelby is looking to put together a plan to restore some of the city’s historic sites.  City Council gave Shelby Mayor Steve Schag and the Shelby Historic Preservation the go ahead to apply for grants, after Shelby became a Certified Local Government back in the fall. Pat Carlisle, chair for the Shelby Historic Preservation Commission told RichlandSource.com, restoring a historic building can make a jump start on economic development.

Right now, Shelby’s Marvin Memorial Library and Most Pure of Mary Church are listed as historic sites.
