Shelby Can Apply For Grants To Restore Historic Sites

The city of Shelby can now apply for grants to help restore historic sites in the city. This thanks to Shelby now being a Certified Local Government. The distinction comes from the Department of Interior, State Historic Preservation office and National Park Service.  Shelby mayor Steve Schag told RichlandSource.com that this is an important step in preserving Shelby history. Right now, Shelby’s Marvin Memorial Library and Most Pure of Mary Church are listed as historic sites.
